The weekend I broke a world record...

Ahh, why does the weekend have to go by so fast?  We had a nice fun/busy couple of days around here!  Since I am not working on Fridays while I do my yoga teacher training, I'm counting all day Friday as a part of my weekend!

On Friday morning, I got up and headed to the gym.  I ran the longest distance I've run since having hip surgery- 6 miles.  This went much better than expected, getting back into it has been really hard, but I'm finally feeling like my running endurance is coming back.  Friday afternoon was spent at yoga study, which was especially awesome this time because I got to teach my own sequence for the first time!  It was my friend Sara's birthday on Friday too- and we showed up wearing almost the same thing to yoga and had to snap a few pics.

On Saturday morning, I was able to get some Bible study done and take care of meal planning for the week.  I spent the whole afternoon at a workshop called Yoga for Runners and Cyclists.  It was taught by one of my favorite instructors and he led us through a 2 hour class that focused specifically on ways to open the hips, stretch the hammys and IT bands, and open the chest/heart- all areas that I need to stretch out big time!  That night we headed to my parents house to watch the MN state hockey tournament with my dad.  My alma mater was playing in the championship game- and they WON!  (Go Edina!)  It was really fun to watch the game and reminisce about the good ol' days.  After the game we headed to a fun bar in NE Minneapolis to celebrate Sara's birthday- also really fun!

On Sunday- I broke a world record! Well- I think I did.  No, I didn't do it alone, it wasn't even my idea, but it was awesome! I went to an event sponsored by Gorilla Yogis at the Mall of America called the Grand Mallasana.  I got to be a part of the largest yoga chain on record- so cool!  A bunch of my yogi friends were there as well, and it is always great to hang out with them! We did about an hour and a half of yoga taught by instructors from all over the Twin Cities right in the middle of the mall!

All in all- it was a great weekend- now if we could just fast forward through Monday.

As always, linking up with Sami!

And Rachel!

  1. I LOVE tournament time in MN. My high school makes appearances about once every 5 years, but it's still fun to watch.
