Health and Fitness Friday

I have to just start by saying that I love participating in this weekly linkup with all of the ladies that Jen has got posting about their health and fitness each Friday.  I find myself thinking about you ladies and this post whenever I feel like I'm losing motivation- I want to have positive stuff to report about my week to you all and the accountability is awesome!

I have my first PT session this afternoon and I am sort of nervous.  Being that I am an OT, and have spent a fair share of time in PT myself, I am not nervous about the exercises themselves or anything, but I am nervous that the therapist will tell me to stop running.  I feel like I have FINALLY found the motivation again to start training for the TC Marathon, and I don't want to get those hopes squashed.  The good news is that I ran 5 miles last weekend with no pain.  I continued to run 2 miles before work this week, and now that I have a day off, I am planning on 6 miles this morning.  I guess that it won't make much of a difference though if the PT tells me to rest, because starting tomorrow (Saturday) I work 9 days in a row and will probably not have a lot of time or energy for running.  I also went to Pure Barre on Monday, and I might make it today.  I am going to try to squeeze it on Sunday too if I can sneak away from work for an hour.

As far as healthy eating goes, this week was sort of meh.  I've probably been eating too much ice cream, but it is finally summer here and I don't know how else to express my happiness about that!  I refuse to apologize for it!  I know it will be difficult next week to find time to cook healthy meals too, I have so many meals that I want to cook so I just need to make a game plan and schedule some time I guess!  Feel free to share any of your favorite summer recipes with me- I am always up for new ideas!  Happy Friday!!

  1. I hope your appointment goes well. New reader from the link up. My hubby and I just bought these really awesome fruit popsicles that have a small layer of dark chocolate covering them. So good!

  2. Good luck at your appointment!! Hopefully they give you some exercises and a big green light on training.
