Vacation Recap Day 3: Dublin

We had a great time in Dublin!  We only spent 1 day there, but we were still able to see what we wanted to see.  As soon as we got into town, we headed out to walk around the city.  We stopped at a cute cafe for lunch and then walked to Trinity College to see the Book of Kells.  The Book of Kells is one of the oldest manuscripts of the 4 gospels, written circa 800.  It is a really beautiful exhibit and so interesting.  We also got to see the old library at Trinity College, which totally felt like being at Hogwarts!

After Trinity College, we walked to the Guinness Storehouse for a tour and some beer tasting.  It was pretty cool.  I am not really a huge Guinness fan, but Mark swears that it was 100 times better in Ireland than it is here!  Since I rarely drink it over here, I will take his word for it. The storehouse was interested and full of information.  The best part obviously was the free pint, which was given to us in the "Skybar" which is on the top story and is all windows!

We did a little more sight seeing around the city before heading to The Temple Bar, where we were pleasantly surprised with a sunny courtyard and live music!  What a cool place!

For dinner that night, we headed out to a cool Irish Pub.  There was a soccer match on between Bayern and Barcelona, which was being played in Munich- so that was cool to see!  The pub was totally PACKED with people watching the game and it was pretty fun to be in the middle of it!  We took another little stroll through the city before heading back to our hotel to rest up for our early flight the next morning!

We <3 Dublin!
